What is my business worth? Free estimate

Answer a few questions and get a rough value range in about two minutes, based on what similar businesses have actually sold for.

How the estimate works

Most small businesses sell for a multiple of their seller’s discretionary earnings (SDE): the total profit one owner-operator takes out of the business in a year.

We start from the average multiple that businesses in your industry actually sold for, then adjust it for four things buyers care about most: track record, how much the business depends on you, recurring revenue, and growth.

Working out your SDE

Start with your net profit before taxes, then add back:

  • Your salary or draw as owner
  • Personal perks paid by the business
  • Interest, depreciation and amortization
  • One-time expenses that won’t recur

Use your most recent full year. A best guess is fine for a rough estimate.
