How our business valuation process works

From order to results in four steps. Most owners spend an hour or two of their own time; we handle the rest.

  1. Choose your package

Pick Essential, Comprehensive, or Growth and check out securely online. Need a Certified Valuation? Request a quote instead.

  2. Send your financials

We need three years of financial statements. With Comprehensive and Growth, we help you gather the right documents and can work directly with your CPA.

  3. We build your valuation

We value your business through a buyer's eyes, using a market-based approach and industry benchmarking. Your report is ready 7–12 business days after we have what we need.

  4. Review your results

Every package includes a recorded video that explains your valuation. Comprehensive and Growth add a live call and specific recommendations to raise your value.

What you’ll need

Three years of financial statements. That’s the core of a market-based valuation: we benchmark your results against businesses in your industry.

Not sure what to send, or your books live with your CPA? The Comprehensive and Growth packages include white-glove help gathering documents, and we’ll work with your CPA directly.

  • Timeline

Your report is ready 7–12 business days after we have the information we need.

  • How we value

We look at your business through a buyer’s eyes, using an objective, mathematical approach benchmarked against private-company sales in your industry.

  • How you get results

A detailed written report plus a personalized recorded video. Comprehensive and Growth add a live 30-minute call.

  • Where we work

Everything happens by phone, email, and video, so we serve owners in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.

After your valuation

Your valuation is yours to use however you like, with no obligation. Many owners use it to build a plan to grow value over the next few years. Growth package clients come back six months later for a second strategy session to check progress.

If you decide to sell, Vision Fox Business Advisors also provides business brokerage, and your valuation gives you a head start on pricing and preparation. If you list your business for sale with Vision Fox within 12 months of your valuation, we credit your valuation fee toward the commission (where Vision Fox provides brokerage).
